Excellent - can I go back now?
| My wife and I stayed at Chateau de Launay for two nights in September. Mark and Valérie (the owners) are wonderful and we cannot say enough positive things about our stay.
We stayed in the Chambre Jaune. The room was spacious and decorated very nicely. The bed was comfortable; we had no trouble sleeping through our alarms the second night. The bathroom is modern and extremely clean. There is a pot for making tea and a TV in the room, although I can’t imagine watching TV with the beautiful Norman country outside the gates. Also, the WiFi works great.
Breakfast was probably the best we had in France - a huge spread of breads, pastries, home-made jams, meats, cheeses, cereals, and more. Mark even took the time to cook bacon and eggs for us. On my second day I ate close to ½ a block of Pavé d’Auge cheese and find myself very depressed that I cannot find it here in the U.S.
Mark and Valérie have a great knowledge of the region and we really enjoyed our conversations with them in the mornings and evenings. They gave great restaurant recommendations and pointed us towards cider/Calvados producers that offered informative tours. The location of Chateau de Launay is perfectly situated within the cider route; however, it is also not far from Caen, Honfleur, or some of the landing beaches.
It is clear Mark and Valérie have put a lot of time and effort into making a beautiful B&B. We really enjoyed our stay there and I would recommend it to anyone.

| + Relaxing rural location ensures a peaceful nights sleep. Delicious breakfast. We stayed for two nights and Mark and Valerie were the perfect hosts. Our room had tea making kettle etc and the shower cubicle was very spacious.

| + Das Chateau de Launay ist mit ganz viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert, die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll ausgestattet. Ich hatte eines der Zimmer im oberen Stockwerk und nannte es 'den Prinzessinnenturm' - gemütlicher Zufluchtsort nach anstrengenden Tagen als Journalistin bei den Weltreiterspielen in Caen, das nur eine halbe Autostunde entfernt liegt. Marc und Valery sind die besten Gastgeber, die man sich vorstellen kann. Nicht zu vergessen Oscar, der Labrador. Das Frühstück war hervorragend, sogar mit selbstgebackenen Waffeln wurden wir verwöhnt. Das schöne Schwimmbad im Garten war im September noch beheizt. Von Mery-Corbón erreicht man die Küste ebenso wie die Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Basse Normandie. Ich war traurig, wieder abreisen zu müssen!

| Positive Experiences
Wonderful hosts and historic Chateau. A quiet location perfect for just relaxing. The owners go through the effort to provide a variety of jams, breads, cheese and other foods for the breakfast. You feel very welcome. Free high-speed internet is easy to access and certainly better than many luxiry hotels.
Anyone interested in local history, culture and horticulture will enjoy the experience. Chateau de Launay is also centrally located in Normandie as the perfect jumping off point.

Gorgeous property in wonderful location
| We spent four days and nights at Chateau Launay as a way to avoid the common hotel experience. It was a wonderful experience we cannot wait to repeat again in the future. Mark, the owner, attended to our every need and prepared a fantastic breakfast everyday. The rooms have modern showers and new tile (plus are very clean). You can't buy that kind of attention to details and wonderful assistance about nearby places to see from any hotel. As a frequent business traveller I can stay for free at a number of luxury hotels with points but instead really enjoyed the Chateau Launay. It is an authentic yet modernized (bathroom) 1850's chateau where you can sit outside and enjoy the quiet countryside. They provide privacy (ift hat is what you want) or visit as wonderful hosts to teach you about the local history, culture and horticulture. Great value!

très bon souvenir
| Trouvé par hasard en cherchant un hébergement entre pont l'évêque et cabourg, nous avions réservé pour une nuit un vendredi soir, en couple.
Niveau tarif, ça se rapprochait des hôtels à cabourg, et à choisir, autant passer la nuit dans un château, ça change du quotidien !
Le gps trouve sans souci et on ne peut pas rater le panneau à l'entrée de la longue allée en gravier si peu praticable que vous ne risquez pas l'excès de vitesse !
Nous avons été logés dans une des chambres du 2e étage. Les escaliers grincent un peu, mais la chambre est superbement refaite, avec une belle douche.
Les rideaux ne sont pas évidents à caler en mode fermé (pour ne pas être réveillés par le soleil trop tôt), mais la chambre est très calme et confortable.
Le petit plus ? Une bouilloire, 2 tasses et de quoi se faire un café ou un thé.
Le petit déjeuner est varié. Simple, mais efficace. Oeuf au bacon cuisinés à la demande, viennoiseries, confiture maison, yahourts, cereales, machine à café en grains ... bref, je me suis régalée et nous nous sommes félicités d'avoir fait ce choix.
Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et discrets.
Pas de repas possible sur place pour dîner, mais nous avons été à cabourg, qui n'est vraiment pas loin. D'ailleurs le propriétaire a quelques adresses de restaurant à partager. N'hésitez pas à lui donner votre avis ou la carte si vous en essayez un qui n'est pas dans sa liste ;)
Si c'était à refaire, sans hésitation j'y retourne !

| + We stayed for one night in August, as a stopover, myself, husband and ten year old son. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and our room was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Our son enjoyed their pool and the short stay was very relaxing. I would have liked to stay longer as this part of Normandy is stunning, peaceful countryside but close to the coastal resorts and DDay beaches. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a small, charming hotel with a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

| We spent 5 days at the Chateau de Launay. It is a lovely B&B where the old mansion has been renovated in a very intelligent way and with a lot of good taste. The rooms are very comfortable. Service is perfect and breakfast is great with a lot of choice. The French bread and the croissants are very good. The area is very quite and sometimes you can hear the owls in the wood. Mark and Valerie are perfect hosts and are also able to suggest places to visit and very nice restaurant in the area.

Posto bellissimo e ospitalità ottima
| Siamo stati allo Chateau de Launay per 5 giorni e sono stati 5 giorni stupendi. Eravamo 5 e abbiamo occupato tutte le stanze. La casa è molto bella ed è stata rimodernata in modo eccellente e intelligente. Le stanze sono dotate di tutte le comodità compreso il wifi. Mark è un ospite disponibile e gentilissimo. La tranquillità della zona aiuta il riposo e l'unico rumore che sentirete potrebbe essere il verso di un paio di civette tra gli alberi. La colazione è molto buona ed abbondante con baguette e croissant freschissimi. A volte ancora caldi. Mark da anche ottimi suggerimenti su cosa visitare e su quali ristorantini scoprire in zona dove si mangia bene ad un prezzo più che ragionevole. Se tornerò in Normandia sarà sicuramente allo Chateau de Launay.

| + Wij werden hartelijk welkom geheten door onze sympathieke, behulpzame Nederlandse gastheer in zijn met zorg ingerichte landhuis. De kamers waren smaakvol, schoon, van alle gemakken voorzien en we sliepen op uitstekende bedden. We genoten iedere ochtend van het ontbijt met voor elk wat wils. Het was heerlijk om in de tuin op het terras te zitten en af te koelen in het zwembad. Wij voelden ons op ons gemak op chateau de Launay.
